O Gauge Modelling on the GWR

A personal Journey

The Third Bridge
As you can see from the images below the bridges were constructed using board to provide the structure and self created brick paper was used to provide the covering surface of the basic structure. The first bridge over the railway was created using retrieved plaster tunnel mouths from the old railway. I photographed these and using Microsoft Publisher recreated walls and pillars from the pictures I had taken.

October 2021

As I use the bridges to separate my four sections of the railway this method allows me to treat each of the 4 areas as separate 'paintings'. This means I can work on each one independently and allow each to 'grow' giving a more realistic finish. Its important to move buildings around as necesary and infill with landscaping as directed by each section.
